Not Jack of it yet ...

There's a lot of talk about Australia's ageing population but what about Australia's growing population of Jacks?

How are we going to support all these Jacks once they get older? Will there be enough personalised number plate variations to go around? Things are going to get confusing ...

This is all tongue-in-cheek of course. Jack is a popular name because it is an awesome name! It is short, it is manly, it is cute and it is easy to spell.

I don't have a son called Jack, but if I did, I would.

Anyway, I'm bringing this up because most Australian states have released their lists of most popular baby names in 2010.

And, not surprising, Jack is on all of them ... again. Has there been another name so popular in recent years? I can't remember the last time Jack wasn't up there!
